7Patent Applications
01
Artificial Intelligence / Image ProcessingPatent Application

A Digital Image-Based Oral, Dental and Dentofacial Pre-Screening System and Method for Children

An integrated system that evaluates oral and dental health, orthodontic condition and dentofacial structure in children for pre-screening purposes through digital images. Thanks to its image quality assessment, data sufficiency check, missing data detection and data completion modules, the system does not start the analysis until data sufficiency is achieved; when missing images are detected it requests only the missing ones from the user and repeats this cycle until the conditions are met. This prevents preliminary assessment from being carried out with low-quality or incomplete images. The analysis produces risk levels, priority scores and referral outputs to relevant specialities such as paediatric dentistry, orthodontics and periodontology for indicators including caries, plaque, oral hygiene, tooth alignment and malocclusion. It can be used in school-based screenings, community oral health programmes and remote healthcare services.

02
Digital Health / Clinical Decision SupportPatent Application

A System and Method for the Assessment, Classification and Monitoring of Temporomandibular Disorders

A web and mobile based system developed for the assessment, classification and monitoring of temporomandibular disorders. It produces assessment and classification outputs by jointly considering the anamnesis and psychosocial data entered by patients and the clinical examination data entered by clinicians. Anamnesis forms and psychosocial scales are completed through the patient interface, examination data is entered through the clinical interface, and the results are turned into structured reports via the reporting and documentation module. Data security is ensured through authentication and authorisation mechanisms, and data is stored encrypted in a cloud-based database. It aims to standardise assessment processes digitally and improve traceability.

03
Medical Device / Signal ProcessingPatent Application

Digital Joint Stethoscope Device

A digital stethoscope that isolates joint sounds from the surrounding environment during preliminary examination of temporomandibular joint disorders. Its headphone body allows the right and left jaw to be listened to separately under equal applied pressure. The control unit analyses frequency and amplitude variations of the sound signals through Jitter and Shimmer measurements and performs FFT-based spectrum analysis for a detailed assessment of joint sounds.

04
Wearable Technology / Artificial IntelligencePatent Application

AI-Supported Bruxism Monitoring and Behavioural Intervention Device with an In-Ear Wearable Sensor System

A device and method that detect involuntary teeth clenching and grinding during sleep through an in-ear wearable sensor system. A piezofilm sensor tracks jaw muscle vibrations while a MEMS accelerometer follows mandibular movement across three axes; artificial intelligence algorithms based on sensor fusion distinguish physiological movements from bruxism. When an episode is detected, a micro vibration motor delivers feedback and the data is transferred to a mobile application over Bluetooth.

05
Digital Health / Artificial IntelligencePatent Application

Smart Night Guard with an AI-Supported, Embedded-Sensor Bruxism Monitoring and Behavioural Intervention System

A smart guard that detects bruxism occurring during night-time sleep by analysing data from multiple sensors with artificial intelligence algorithms. Unlike the passive mechanical protection of conventional guards, it actively detects and records the behaviour and provides instant feedback based on personalised thresholds, contributing to the prevention of tooth wear, headaches and temporomandibular joint disorders.

06
Medical ProductPatent Application

Obesity Appliance

A clinical application appliance developed for metabolic support, providing a maximum opening control of 30 mm with an intraoral device.

07
Medical DevicePatent Application

An Intraoral Mechanical Opening-Restriction Appliance for Temporomandibular Joint Hypermobility

An intraoral appliance that mechanically limits jaw opening in temporomandibular joint hypermobility. Through a controlled opening limit, it aims to reduce excessive load on the joint and support the treatment process.

TÜBİTAK Projects

Our ongoing TÜBİTAK projects.

We continue our R&D work in medical product development, personalised health technologies and digital health through TÜBİTAK-supported projects.

TÜBİTAK 1005

National New Ideas and Products Research Support Programme

Prototype Production and Functional Validation of a New Generation Intraoral Appliance for Temporomandibular Joint Hypermobility

Within this project, prototype production and functional validation studies are carried out for the new generation intraoral appliance developed for temporomandibular joint hypermobility.

The project aims to advance the design of the appliance, produce its prototype, evaluate its mechanical and functional properties, and establish the technical infrastructure for clinical use.

TÜBİTAK 1507

SME R&D Start-Up Support Programme

Development of a Personalised Intraoral Medical Appliance for the Mechanical Modulation of Eating Behaviour

Within this project, an innovative intraoral medical appliance is being developed that adapts to the individual's oral and jaw structure and mechanically modulates eating behaviour.

The project covers personalised design, prototype development, engineering analyses, product safety and functional validation studies.

TÜBİTAK 1501

Industrial R&D Projects Support Programme

Criteria-Based Assessment and Reporting Software for the Monitoring of Temporomandibular Disorders

Within this project, a criteria-based digital software is being developed for the assessment and monitoring of temporomandibular disorders.

The software aims to support the structured recording of clinical data, the evaluation of findings against defined criteria, the monitoring of patient follow-up processes and the generation of standardised reports.
